WITNESS APPEAL FOR ASSAULT IN MELTON
Police are
appealing for witnesses to an assault in which a Sudanese teenager was struck on
the head with a broken bottle yesterday evening.
The 17 year old
and his brother also 17, were riding their bikes along Quail Crescent about 30
metres north of
They were
approached by a group of three young men and an altercation broke out.
One of the men
then attacked the victim with a bottle striking him over the head causing a
serious laceration.
The three men
then took the victim’s wallet and mobile phone before later sending the victim’s
brother text messages taunting them.
Ambulance and
police were notified, the 17 year old was then conveyed to the The Sunshine
Hospital for treatment. He was released this morning.
Detectives are
appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this assault or has any information
that may assist police to Crime
