GROUP OF MEN ATTACK TWO CARS - CARLTON

A man was punched in the face after two bricks were thrown through the windows of the car he was travelling in earlier this evening.

It was the first of two attacks which occurred in the same area within five minutes of each other.

In the first attack, a woman was stopped at the lights on Rathdowne Street at the intersection with Alexandra Parade with a man in her front passenger seat about 6.45pm.

They were approached by a group of about 10 males possibly late teens or early twenties described as being of dark complexion.

The group attempted to gain entry to the vehicle before throwing a brick through the front window and punching the passenger.

A brick was then thrown through the rear window while some of the group were kicking the car.

In the second attack which happened about 5 minutes later at the same intersection, a man had pulled over to the side of the road to use his mobile phone.

Again, a group of about 10 males dark complexion have approached the man and told him to get out of his car.

He refused and the group began to kick his car and tried to smash the drivers side window to get at him.

The man managed to drive off before any further damage was done.

If anyone witnessed these attacks or  has any information in relation to these incidents they are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to visit www.crimestoppers.com.au
